This program is for international students who complete an eligible Canadian post-secondary program. If you meet the requirement of this program, you are allowed to work for any employer in Canada. Experience gained under PGWP program also helps students to qualify for permanent resident.
Application requirements for PGWP:
- You have up to 180 days after you graduate to apply for a PGWP.
- You must graduate from a Designated learning institute (DLI) from a program that is minimum 8 months long. Study program must lead to a certificate, diploma, or a degree.
- You must have a degree / diploma or transcript or an official letter from college to confirm institutional and program requirements
- You must have maintained full time student status in Canada during each semester. (If you had to stop studying or change to part-time studies between March 2020 and the fall semester in 2020 because of reasons related to COVID-19, you may still be eligible for a PGWP).
